TheIdan Raichel Project is the brainchild of Israeli keyboardist, composer, producer and arranger Idan Raichel, who invited more than seventy musicians from different backgrounds to participate in the recordings, creating a multicultural collaboration that offers a message of enrichment and respect for diversity. With an enchanting aroma of Middle Eastern flavors along with traditional musical instruments, sophisticated production techniques, and a spectacular live show, the Idan Raichel Project has become one of the most unexpected hits in Israeli music today.
The present work, published by the Cumbancha label, is a proposal of Ethiopian folkloric fusion, Arabic poetry, Yemenite songs, biblical psalms and Caribbean rhythms, in which the different invited participants leave a trace of their territorial roots in each theme, resulting in an interesting fusion of sounds and languages of Israeli and Middle Eastern fusion. Music from the East and from the West that does not understand conflicts, but rather harmony and cultural and human understanding.
